Match Report - 24 Nov 2007, WEST HERTS HOCKEY CLUB Mens 5XI lost to Potters Bar 1
Despite the result, we played our best hockey this season against a Bar side that had lost the previous week to BAe.
From the start we got tight to their runners and the ball carrier which got them making mistakes and had it not been for their goalie we could well have got a couple of goals in the first half, but it was not to be. After 15 mins they got the first of 4 for the half, showing what good one-time passing and excellent running off the ball can get you at this level. 3 great crosses from the right got put away. So 0-4 half time.
Second half was basically more of the same, with us trying to break up their play and trying to get a goal on the break. Obviously no joy on that score but at least we got more shots at their keeper than the 4's did when they played them earlier in the season.
They scored 2 more goals for good measure, sealing a 6-0 win.
Overall great work from everybody if we play like that next week and score we will beat Broxbourne easily.
